I continue to be amazed at the lack of unsaturated fatty acids in the average daily diet. I am particularly concerned that this lack stretches across all age groups. When will we understand that the body requires omega 3,6, and 9. They cannot be synthesized in the body and therefore must be obtained from the diet. As a child I remember my dose of flaxseed oil and fish oil every morning. Deficiency of these two fatty acids (oils) may lead to thirst, frequent urination and posible behavioral symptoms such as ADD & ADHD. I am still shocked by the amount of medication that our precious children are taking, most of which is adult medication and has never undergone testing in children. What are the consequences to the liver and kidney in bodies that are still growing? The alternative is simple and the evidence is very persuasive. I enjoyed your article. I have a question for you. What alternatives are available for treating ADD/ADHD naturally? I have 2-3 kids in my family that are fairly strong adhd or add.
I haven’t seen a lot things that will treat it effectively.
I also have a daughter that gets sick very regularly and has been on antibiotics regularly (every 6-8 weeks). She comes down with something (babysits in nursery for kids at a sports center) frequently.
She can’t afford to miss school. Suggestions welcome.
Thanks,
Craig.
